Design Engineering Summer show 2021

Our virtual Design Engineering Summer Show 2021 celebrates this year's Dyson School graduates and their projects. Individuals who have worked with resilience, resourcefulness and generally good humour during a global period of great uncertainty. As design engineers, we have always been acutely aware of how volatile our world is. From the complexity of the problems we strive to solve, to the uncertainty and ambiguity we frequently experience when embarking on a new challenge.

This can be called a VUCA context. A term coined to describe the expertise US military planners need in the 21st Century. This year's graduating students and the topics their project tackle are good evidence of taking on the VUCA challenges we all face. The skills, knowledge and understanding gained will be invaluable for making a positive impact through design engineering throughout long and successful careers.

Open House

Open House is an annual exhibition hosted in Spring by the Design Engineering Society at Imperial College London, in collaboration with the Dyson School of Design Engineering. It celebrates student work from the Design Engineering, Innovation Design Engineering and Global Innovation Design courses.

This year's Open House was a virtual event, with student work exhibited in a 3D gallery space. The space is a replica of the Dyson School's Level 2 breakout space, a favourite among staff and students to work and collaborate. It also featured a series of online talks and panels, from graduates and industry.
